DJ is a man of integrity and sets an amazing example of how to be a great family man. DJ has a lovely wife and six amazing children. He carries the Father’s heart for the youth of Alaska. DJ is a Yup’ik man, born and raised in village Alaska. He loves Alaska and all Alaskans. He honors his culture and traditions by creating some of the most beautiful Yup’ik masks you’ve even seen. DJ was chosen as a UAA resident artist and teaches others to honor their heritage by creating their own indigenous works of art. His work is often highlighted at the Alaska Heritage Center. On Carry the Cure trips, you will always find DJ taking the time to listen to others and build them up.
